Twinsie Tuesday, Halloween Mani

Welcome to Twinsie Tuesday!

We are showing off some Halloween mani's today!  Halloween is my least favorite holiday... but I do love the candy part!  Mmmm mmmm.

On my index finger I used Barielle Soho at Night, middle finger is OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, ring finger is Wet & Wild Black Creme and pinky is Sinful Colors Hazard.  The glitter on my middle and pinky fingers is OPI Bring on the Bling, and the glitter over black is Essence Space Queen.

Excited to see my fellow Twinsie's Halloween inspired mani's!

Sparitual, Conglomerate Glitter

I bought my very first Sparitual polish while visiting one of my besties in Whistler, BC.  I was going there for a visit and a haircut (she's a hairdresser and esthetician) and they sell Sapritual's at her salon.

I chose Conglomerate Glitter from the Fall 2012 Rock Collection.  It is sooo gorgeous, and a perfect Fall color.

The base is a browny green with lots of pretty gold shimmer and flecks, and then some round black and white/silver glitter mixed in.

I used 2 coats and wished I would have done 3, as there were a few bald spots.  I wore this for 3 days and there were no chips at all!

Maybelline, Boho Gold

I am loving me some Maybelline Color Show polishes lately.  Their new limited Fall edition collection is fabulous!  I picked out Boho Gold the other day, and even though the duochrome is way cooler in the bottle than it is on the nail, I still love it.

I used 3 coats for these photos.  The formula was pretty thin, but I was careful to not put too much on the brush, so I didn't get any pooling around my cuticles.

Twinsie Tuesday, Polish from First Swap

Twinsie Tuesdayyyyyy!

The fabulous Nory from Fierce Makeup and Nails was my first ever swap buddy!  I didn't even know that swaps existed when I first started my blog.  What a cool thing it is to swap polishes with friends, and get the chance to own polishes that you may never be able to get on your own!

I'm pretty sure that Bastille My Heart by OPI was in my first swap package (is that right Nory?!)  Anyway, I know for sure that it is the first OPI that Nory sent me.  And steal my heart it did!!  Mmm Mmmmmm.

Wearing Bastille My Heart is like wearing juicy candy on your fingertips.  It reminds me of car paint that you would expect to see on a Ferrari or something!  The shimmer in there is so lovely in person.

Be sure to check out my other Twinsies to see what their first polish swaps were!

Layla Mermaid Spell, Holo Fabulous!

Be still my heart!  My first linear holo!  My Mom bought it for me while we were out and about the other day.  I finally went into a Chatters 'Supply' store that I have been wanting to check out for ages.  I was hoping that it would have wholesale prices, but nope, just regular old pricing.

My Mom paid $17 for this Layla, and it is worth every single penny!  Mermaid Spell is a lovely blue holo, with rainbows galore.  Formula was great, I could have used 3 coats, but I was happy at 2.  It dried supa dupa quick, no base coat or top coat.  I tried a base coat, and it crackled on me!  Only down side was with no base coat or top coat, it only lasted a day on me.  I didn't try a top coat, as I've heard it dulls the holo effect, but I will try it next time I wear it.

Take a peek!

I am so in love with Mermaid Spell.  I cannot wait to go back for more.  My Mom picked out the blue for me, so I think I'll go for pink next time!

OPI, Every Month is Oktoberfest

Besides being absolutely flippin gorgeous, this polish means a lot to me.  My good friends Amanda from Amandalandish and Nory from Fierce Makeup and Nails sent me this polish as well as 3 other gorgeous polishes in a special package.  I feel so blessed to have good friends that are there for me in a time of need, and a nail package and beautiful card, meant a lot.

Every Month is Oktoberfest (Germany collection) is a stunning burgundy/purple polish with loads of shimmery goodness!  It changed so much in every lighting sitch.  I love polishes like that.

Twinsie Tuesday 3 Layer Experiment

I was pleasantly surprised with my 3 layer polish experiment for this week's Twinsie Tuesday theme.

The idea was to pick 3 polishes to layer over each other.  We were supposed to choose 3 random polishes, but I went with what I already had on my nails as the base color, which was Essie Lilacism.

Then I layered Aloha Surf by Island Girl Hawaii.  I love this fun glitter!  I knew I wanted to use a cream and a glitter and some type of sheer effect to top it all off.

So, for my third layer I chose Sinful Colors Let Me Go.  It is a verrrry sheer duochrome.  Love the flashes of green, and in certain lights there is a flash of gold.  I actually really ended up loving my final product!

Essence, Grey-t to be Here

I was so happy to find Grey-t to be Here in my local Essence display the other day.  I have seen some lovely swatches of it around and knew I HAD to have it.

Grey-t to be Here is a beautiful grey cream with lovely little glass flecks that change from pink to orange depending on what light you are in.  So pretteh...

It applied so perfectly and dried really quick.  The 'colour & go' slogan is true!  2 smooth coats and it was opaque.  Perfect!

Twinsie Tuesday Glitter Bomb

Hello hello,

We are showing off a Glitter Bomb mani today for Twinsie Tuesday.

I did this mani a few months ago just for fun.  I really liked how it turned out!  I used Billie Anxiety (green glitter) and NYX Prismatic Gold for the glitter tips.

Check out my other Twinsie's to see their Glitter Bomb mani's!

Essence, Gorgeous Bling Bling

Helo hello,

I hummed and hawwed over this Essence polish in Shoppers Drugmart the other day.  The gorgeous flakies are what got me immediately, but the I wasn't fond of the color.  I wore it for a day, and it was ok, but I was ready to take it off!

Gorgeous Bling Bling (weird name) comes in the new Essence bottles.  It's a pretty unique polish, an interesting burnt (dirty-like) orange color with gold flakies.  I pretty much can NEVER pass on a flakie polish!

The formula was fantastic, 2 really easy coats and it dried supa quick!!

So what do you think, are you on the fence like me?  Love it or hate it?!

Twinsie Tuesday Indie

Indie Mani's are happening today at Twinsie Tuesday!

I am showing you an indie polish by my friend Nory from Fierce Makeup and Nails.  She sent me Melted Sprinkles in one of our swaps, and it is such a gorgeous polish!  I love how the glitter is so subtle, you have to look close to see it once it's on the nail.  It reminds me of those white speckled jawbreakers that I used to get as a kid!

I'm super excited to check out what Indie polishes my other Twinsies are showing today!
