One Year Anniversary for Twinsie Tuesday!

I know it's Thursday, not Tuesday, but today is our one year anniversary of Twinsie Tuesday!  So we are celebrating with an extra post this week.  I am so happy to be a part of this amazing group of blogging women!

We are re-creating our first Twinsie Tuesay post.  Only problem is, is that I do not have that polish anymore!  We were supposed to use an International polish that week, and I chose Rimmel Vintage.  For some reason I cannot find that in my stash anymore, so I just am using a new Rimmel polish, Magic Stardust.

I've got two coats of Magic Stardust, over top of a coat of Revlon Dreamer.  I love this combo, even the names of the polish go together!

The glitter is a little sparse, but I got the look I wanted in two coats.

There are large pink and blue hexes and smaller holo hexes in a clear base.  Can't wait to make a jelly sandwich out of this polish!

Check out my other Twinsie's to see what their first TT post was!

Twinsie Tuesday, Vintage Mani

Hello hello!

I love the theme for this weeks Twinsie Tuesday post: A Vintage Mani.  I love vintage ANYTHING!

I Googled 'vintage nail polish' and came across this super cute design:

Who knew that a half moon mani was vintage?  Not this girl anyway.

Here is my take on this cute nail style.  I think my squared tips makes it look more modern, but I wasn't willing to taper them!!

I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the base coat.  I taped off the half moon using a circle sticker and taped off the tips with some washi tape (washi tape is so perfect to work with because it's not as sticky as scotch tape)  I painted the middle with a coat of Berry by Barry M.  I love this pretty lilac-pink.

Be sure to take a peek at my Twinsie's vintage mani's too!

Twinsie Tuesday, Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

Today on Twinsie Tuesday we are doing a mani for Cervical Cancer Awareness.  The ribbon for cervical cancer is the color teal.

Each year in the United States, more than 11,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer and approximately 4,000 die of the disease. While certain types of the human papillomavirus (HPV) are linked to cervical cancer, vaccines such as Gardasil® and Cervarix™ are designed to prevent infection with high-risk types of HPV and have the potential to greatly reduce the occurrence of cervical cancer.
For more information on cervical cancer, its treatment, and support, please visit Cancer Connect by clicking here.

I chose For Audrey by China Glaze.  It's the closest color to teal that I own.

Gold Leaf Topcoat

There are a few swatches going around that have gotten me OBSESSED with gold leaf topcoats!  This one by Ash from Art Evolve, and this one from Polish Amor.

I cannot seem to find the OPI Man With the Golden Gun topcoat, so I decided to make my own!  I picked up some gold leaf from Micheals, it cost me $6.00.  Now this is a big pain in the butt to make, but the pay off is pretty great!

This beautiful soft teal China Glaze is For Audrey.

This pretty pink is an un-named Sally-girl polish.

So this is how the gold leaf came when I bought it.  The best way I have found to make it, is to use a piece of paper and an exacto knife and just slice the leaf into tiny pieces.  It takes some patience!  When I got the pieces small enough, I added about 10 drops of clear polish and swiped the polish over my nail, I did have to dot a few pieces on here and there to get the look I was hoping for.  A generous coat of Seche Vite made it glassy smooth!

Twinsie Tuesday, Red

Hello friendo's
Today is Twinsie Tuesday and it is also my 200th post!  We are showing off a red mani today.  I chose Berry and Bright by Color Club.  This is just such a fabulous red.  It has tiny foil peices that give it such a cool layered foil look.  I spy some purple flecks in there too.  This was highly pigmented and I could have gotten away with one coat.

Be sure to have a look at the other Twinsie's red mani's today!

Revlon Royal and OPI Warm and Fozzie

Revlon Royal, such a magnificent blue jelly.  I have seen swatches of this before and never really wanted it until I saw this swatch by LTHP.  I instantly fell in love and needed it!

The formula of Royal was absolutely perfect!  Two buttery smooth coats was all I needed.  Of course under my bright lights and macro lens you can see a little bit of nail line, but whatevs.

In the LTHP swatch, she did a gradient with a chunky copper hex glitter.  I only have gold hex glitter, and it was the copper combo that made me fall in love, so I recreated mine using OPI Warm and Fozzie.  Yum yum.

Twinsie Tuesday, Saran Wrap Mani

Hiya Dolls

It's Saran mani's this week at Twinsie Tuesday!  I have attempted this look once before, but it was a major fail.  This time was better!  It reminds me of stone.

I used Essence Chic Reloaded as my base coat.  I picked this up the other day and it is a really gorgeous duochrome finish!  Looks mostly black but flashes a brilliant pinky-purple and then green. I dabbed on Sally Hansen Whirlwind White with the saran wrap.

Be sure to check out my other Twinsies!

Color Club Holiday 2012 Winter Affair

Well I guess the holidays are almost over but techinically I missed it all!  My hubs and I woke up Christmas morning with food poisoning.  Our poor girlies (ages 8 and 9) had to open presents by themselves.  Such a sad day!

I would have shown you these over the holidays, but it really took it out of me, so you get it now!  This is such a fun holiday collection, I loved every single polish!

First up is Ho-Ho-Holly.  I am so in love with this green foil.  Application was a breeze, two thin coats was all I needed.  The gold really surprised me in here!

Winter Affair is a rich, deep maroon with fabulous shimmer.  This was my favorite in the collection.  I love dark colors, especially with dark almost flakie shimmer! Mmmmm.

Glitter Wonderland is a fun shimmery jeweled purple.  It is made up of micro glitter in red, blue and purple in a purple base.  I loved wearing this, it was like jewels on my finger tips.

Berry And Bright is an amazing red foil.  Two thin coats gave the most beautiful layered foil effect.  This one really glows from within.

Gift of Sparkle is a fabulous red and purple glitter with some fun holo glitter mixed in, all in a purple base.  I used two coats and the coverage was great.  I needed a very generous layer of top coat to make it glassy smooth.  The holo glitter in there really sparkled!

And then just to be a little crazy, I added Snow-Flakes on top of Gift of Sparkle.  That's a whole lot of fun going on there!  Snow-Flakes is a flakie top coat that shifts orange to green.

Happy New Year, Twinsie Tuesday

Happy New Year everybody!

I hope you all had a great New Years Eve!  I'm ringing in the New Year in my jammie's with the hubs and my little girlies!

Marry A Millionaire looked like a fun New Years mani to me!  Lots and lots of fun sparkly glitter in here!  For the first time I wore 'underwear' under my glitter!  My pinky nail is bare, but the other 3 I tried a nude 'underwear' and I really love the effect!  I might be crazy, but I see a difference!

So excited to see what my other Twinsie's wore for New Years Eve!
