Twinsie Tuesday, Ruffian Mani

I was so looking forward to this weeks challenge, until I actually sat down to do it.  This Ruffian Mani is hard!  This was my second try, and I decided to only do it as an accent nail!

I just could not get that line smooth.  Regardless of that I love the colors together!  My Very First Knockwurst by OPI is the dusty nude and the ruffian burgundy is Anti-Bleak OPI from the Mariah Carey collection.  Anti-Bleak is less burgundy and more purple in real life.

Hoping the other Twinsie's had more luck than me this week!

Sticks and Stones by Cover Bands Lacquers

Hello hello

I love that at first glance, my ring finger looks reminds me of cows! Haha

My base coat is Finger Paint's Gossamer White again because I love it so much right now!  On my pointer I'm wearing Wear Something Spar-Kylie by Nicole by OPI.  On my ring finger I'm wearing Sticks and Stones by Cover Band Lacquers.  I love this polish so much!  And on my pinky I have Shine On Crazy Diamond by Orly, which is such a pretty little topcoat.

Twinsie Tuesday Stripes

Hello hello and welcome to Twinsie Tuesday!

This week is polka dots and stripes.  Normally, I would be all over some polka dots, but this week I chose stripes because I have my first magnetic polish to show you guys (I know, I'm super behind on that band wagon!).

This polish brand is SUZY, which is a clothing store in Canada.  They have quite a few fun polishes, so when I saw this magnetic one, I was so excited to try it!  It was pretty easy to use, just one coat and then put the magnet over top for five seconds and voila!

Please check out the other Twinsie's to see whether they are sporting dots or stripes!

OPI My Private Jet

Is it silly that I bought OPI My Private Jet because I saw Kim Kardashian buy it on Keeping Up With the Kardashians?  Yes it is.  I was in Chatters the other day and I didn't even know what MPJ looked like, so when I saw how gorgeous it is, I grabbed it.  Kim has good taste.

I guess there are two versions of MPJ, and I have the second version.  The older one was a linear holo I believe.  I am so in love with this version though!  The little tiny flecks that look silver in my photos are holographic, so in certain lights they shine and dance.  The polish is definately brown, but I find it looks black under most artificial light.

The formula was amazing, a one coater!  Went on as smooth as butter, and dried super quick.  I've been wearing it for 4 days now and not one single chip, just a little tip wear.

Do you have MPJ?  New or old version?

Claire's Pinata Jelly Sandwich

I almost squealed when I saw Pinata at Claires the other day!  I don't have any shard-type polish yet, so of course I picked this up!

Pinata has multi-color chard bits in a clear base, so fabulous!  Application was a little tricky, sometimes the shards were sparse and sometimes they clumped together.  The end result was way worth it though.  I used Finger Paints Gossamer White with Pinata for my jelly sandwhich.

Three thin coats of Gossamer White.

Next I added one thin coat of Gossamer White over Pinata.

And on Pinata on all four fingers as a jelly sandwich.

Kourt Is Ready For a Pedi, Nicole OPI

Happy Valentine's Day!

I think Kourt Is Ready For a Pedi is a great polish to show off for Valentine's Day.  I love Nicole by OPI, and I love the Kardashian's!  Kourtney is def my fave Kardashian.  I have wanted Kourt Is Ready For a Pedi for a long time now, so when I saw it went on sale for $5.00 I had to get it!  (They are regularly $10-12.00 in Canada).

KIRFAP (lets abreve it shall we?) is a bright orange leaning red that is a crelly (creme-jelly mix).  For my pictures I used 3 very thin coats.  There was some visible nail line, but I don't mind that too much.

I hope your Valentine's Day is full of love!

Twinsie Tuesday, Marching Orders

This week for Twinsie Tuesday, we were given a challenge from another Twinsie member.  My challenge comes from Rachel of Top Coat It  She suggested that I challenge myself and try something that is out of my comfort zone.  So for me that would be nail art (which is funny because Rachel is always rocking some amazing nail art!)

I've wanted to try a chevron look for a long time, so this was my opportunity to be forced to give it a go!

I used China Glaze Surreal Appeal for my base coat.  I love this pinky-coral cream.  And I used a gold nail art polish given to me by the lovely Amanda from Amandalandish  I cute some washi tape using some small chevron patterned scissors and taped off the area I wanted to be gold.  Really wishing that I had made the gold area bigger now, but oh well, there is always next time ;)

Be sure to visit the other Twinsie's!

Zoya Song

The fabulous Nory from Fierce Makeup and Nails sent me Zoya Song in one of our swaps and I am over the moon about this polish!

Song is a rich royal blue with the lovely micro flakie shimmer that makes it look like it's glowing from within.

Application was perfect, a one coater!  Love.  I put a top coat on for some extra shine and long lasting wear.

Twinsie Tuesday School Colors

Welcome to Twinsie Tuesday!

We are showing some school spirit this week by showing off some mani's in our school colors.  I'm trying to rock this mani, but I hated the colors in high school and apparently I still hate them!  My school's colors were yellow and black.  Love black, and love yellow, but together it's just not my thing.

I used three thin coats of Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow and the polka dots are Wet and Wild Black Creme.

Vernis Classique, Puzzled Pink

One of my fave clothing stores sells Vernis Classique by Cherimoya polishes.  Whenever I go in there, I usually end up buying a few of their polishes.  I picked up Puzzled Pink the other day and I really love it.

This would be a good layering polish, but I decided to do three coats of this to see what it looks like on it's own.  There are tons of teeny tiny white flakies in a beautiful pink jelly.  This polish is right up my alley!

Pretty flakies close up.
