Essie Gel Setter Top Coat

PRESS SAMPLE

Hiya Dolls!

How are you all doing?  Hopefully enjoying Summer as much as we are here in BC.  We are in the middle of a heat wave and are busy finding ways to keep cool!

Gel Setter is a new top coat from Essie that boasts the long-lasting, rock-hard shine of a gel, without the UV light.  It has a new technology featuring acrylates and copolymer that provides a thick coating with intense shine and anti-chip properties.

I added one thick coat of Gel Setter over top of Essie Strut Your Stuff.  It was dry to the touch in less than a minute!  Of course I was still careful for about half an hour after applying, but I didn't have any smudges.

I wore a mani with this on last week for 6 days!  I had a bit of tipwear after a few days and one small chip, but other than that my mani still looked great!  One thing I loved about it was I didn't get any cracks on the side of my nails that I sometimes get with other top coats.

Essie Gel Setter will be available at drugstores across Canada as of July 1st 2015.

China Glaze Plur-ple

Hey Dolls!

I was so excited to find a few purple polishes that have been on my wish list for a while at Sally's.  I found Creative Fantasy, Plur-ple and Violet-Vibes.

I wore Plur-ple first and loved it!  Formula was fine, two easy coats and top coat.

I think I'll try Creative Fantasy next!  That one has been on my wish list for ages now!

Zoya Paradise Sun Collection 2015

PRESS SAMPLES

Hey Dolls!

I've got part two of the Zoya Summer Collections to share with you today.  These beauties are part of the Paradise Sun Collection.  The colors are very similar to the Island Fun Collection but with loads of beautiful shimmer!

First up is my favorite in this collection, Aphroite.  Aphroite is a stunning reddish orange with amazing shimmer flakes.  This polish looks like it is lit from within!  This was the only one that I needed three coats of, as it was a bit sheer.

Mae is a fabulous magenta pink with metallic shimmer.  This is seriously gorgeous on the nails!  Ised two coats for my swatch.

Isa is a blue-based purple with metallic shimmer.  Isa is very pigmented, I almost got away with one coat!

Genesis is a lovely white with loads of white shimmer that is meant to look like diamond dust.  She is such a beauty!  I used two thick(ish) coats and topcoat.

Oceane is a true turquoise with shimmer and a metallic finish.  This one is super pigmented and will stain your nails, so be sure to double (triple) up on your base coat.

Selene is a true teal with shimmer and a metallic finish.  This is another highly pigmented shade, so be sure to double up on base coat if you wear this beauty!

You can find the gorgeous Paradise Sun Collection on the Zoya website.  Will you be picking up either of these two Summer Collections?

Chillato Gradient

Hey Dolls!

It has been a while since I have done a gradient around here and I knew Essie Chillato would be a fun one to use!  I paired it with OPI Angel With a Leadfoot. First, I put down a basecoat using Angel With a Leadfoot and then I needed 4 coats of the two colors, using the sponge gradient technique.

Hope you all have a great weekend.  I will be back on Monday with part 2 of my Zoya Paradise Sun Collection!

Zoya Island Fun Collection

Press Samples

I am such a huge fan of Zoya polishes, so I am super excited to show you the new Island Fun Collection 2015!  The formula for all six of these polishes are super creamy and very pigmented!

Demetria is hot red with orange undertones that makes it perfect for Summer.  This is my favourite of the Collection.

Nana is a beautiful Summer fuchsia.  A very popular shade for Summer this year.

Serenity is a gorgeous Iris-inspired, Summer purple.

Talia is a stunning, true turquoise.  Like most shades of teal and turquoise, this will stain your nails, so double or even triple up on your base coat!

Cecilia is a gorgeous, true teal.  Like Talia, you are going to need to triple up on your base coat, as this will stain your nails.

Jace is described as a modern, tropical green.  This is a super unique, muted green.  I don't have anything like this in my collection.

Will you be picking up any of these polishes this Summer?  Available at Zoya.com

New OPI Brights Collection 2015

PRESS SAMPLES

Hey Dolls!

How are you all doing today?  Today is a fun day for me, I get to show you the full collection of the new OPI Brights 2015!  This collection features six new shades and three favorites.  The collection has a fun mix of bright creams, shimmers, fine glitters and a matte glitter topper.

Can't Hear Myself Pink is a new shade and it is my fave in the whole collection!  It is described as a shimmering metallic pink.  I did three thin coats for my swatch.

I Sea You Wear OPI is another new shade and it's described as an iridescent metallic blue.  This is so gorgeous and sparkley on the nail!  I did three thin coats.

On Pinks and Needles is a new pink matte glitter topper.  I put it over top of I Sea You Wear OPI.  No need to 'fish' out the glitter with this one, it is jam-packed!

The Berry Thought Of You is another new shade.  It is a gorgeous purple cream/jelly.  I used two thin coats.

I STOP for Red is a scorching hot red jelly.  This is a great red with orange tones for Summer.  I used two thin coats.

My Car has Navy-gation is the last new shade in the collection.  It is a stunning deep navy with a jelly finish.  I did two thin coats for my swatch.

The next three polishes are favorites from the Summer Collection 2014.  The first one is Hotter Than You Pink, and it's a fun pink with electric blue shimmer.  I used two coats for my swatch.

Life Gave Me Lemons is a lemony-lime green cream.  I feel like they changed the color a little from last year.  This formula looks more lemon where last year had more of a lime look.  Does anyone remember that?

Last but definitely not least, we have Down to the Core-al, a beautiful coral with electric pink shimmer.  Two coats was all I needed for perfect opacity.

Isn't this a gorgeous collection for Summer?  They are available now in select stores.  You can do a white base coat first to make the colors pop even more, but I didn't feel the need to!  Which shades catch your eye?
