Merry Christmas, Twinsie Tuesday

Merry Christmas everybody!

Christmas is my favorite time of year.  Jesus' birthday, family, friends, snow, eggnog, turkey dinner, carols, presents, almond rocca and Christmas mani's!

For my Christmas mani (on Twinsie Tuesday!) I used Color Club Berry And Bright which is the beautiful red foil/shimmer.  My favorite white OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (big surprise there!) ACO, which is the red glitter, and Wet And Wild

Orly, Miss Conduct

I knew I would love this polish when I saw it in the bottle, but on the nail it is even more fabulous!  Miss Conduct is from Orly's Naughty and Nice Holiday 2012 Collection.  Miss Conduct is a gorgeous deep pink with the perfect amount of scattered holo mixed in.  Application was a breeze, two coats gave me perfect coverage.

Now, I stare at my nails a lot even when I'm wearing a creme, so when I had this baby on.....well, lets just say I probably shouldn't have been driving!  They flickered and glowed and I just couldn't take my eyes off them.

Twinsie Tuesday Birthstone Mani

Hello friendlies!

We are showing you a mani using our birthstone color this week at Twinsie Tuesday.  My birthday is August 17, and August's birthstone is peridot.  Peridot can range from yellow-green to olive green.  When I was younger, I thought that peridot was really boring, but now I love it.  Green is now one of my favorite colors (not so much for nail polish though).

Since I don't love green nail polish that much, I didn't have much to work with.  One shade of green that I like in polish is mint or aqua.  I own two mint polishes, one of them is Revlon Minted which I am showing you today.

Minted took 4 coats to reach opacity.  I do quite thin coats so I'm sure you could get away with 2-3 thicker coats.  It did dry really quickly, so it made the 4 coats manageable.

I want to send a warm welcome to our newest Twinsie Jamie!  So glad to have you!

Christmas Sweater Mani

Hello hello!

This Christmas season I am super inspired by Nordic style prints.  I have bought Nordic tights, printed wrapping paper, gift bags, napkins and have rocked some printed nails too!  I saw on The Nail Network's blog that she created a Christmas sweater mani, and I immediately loved it!

I created my own using OPI Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine! as my base color and Sally Hansen Whirlwind White as my stamping color.  I used a lace stamp that I have and while I don't own any Christmas-y stamping plates, I found a flower that looked a bit like a pointsetta to me.

I had started with an accent finger, and when that one worked out ok, I thought I would try doing them all.

Twinsie Tuesday, Chanukuh

Welcome to Twinsie Tuesday!
We are showing a Chanukuh inspired mani today!
I decided to use white, blue and gold/yellow for my colors.  My white is OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (my favorite white of all time!)  The blue is China Glaze Dorothy Who? a lovely silver glitter in a blue base.  My gold/yellow is Wet and Wild Give Me A Price Quote, which is chocked full of gold bar glitter.

Be sure to check out my other Twinsie's and take a peek at their Hanukkah inspired mani's.

Retro Blue, Vernis

Hello hello,

Vernis by Cherimoya is a new-to-me brand that I'm really enjoying!  I picked up a couple colors the other day, and Retro Blue was one of them.  I love this shade of blue, it actually has a little more green in it, but my camera refused to pick that up.

Retro Blue is a crelly (cream/jelly) that applied really smoothly.  The first coat was streaky, but the second evened everything out perfectly.

I added a coat of Color Club Snow-Flakes, which is a fabulous flakie that shifts red, pink, orange and green.  I still am obsessed with flakies!

Twinsie Tuesday Black and White

Hello hello,

It's black and white day today at Twinsie Tuesday!  I went pretty simple with my mani, using China Glaze Haunting as my black, and Nicole by OPI  It's All About The Glam for my white.

Haunting has beautiful silver glitter in a black base.  Two coats made this perfectly opaque.  It's All About The Glam on the other hand, took four coats to build up opacity!  I don't mind though because it is such a lovely shimmery white, it is so worth it!
