Island Girl Island Dream

Hey Dolls

My Mom went to Vegas a couple months ago and brought me home a few Island Girl polishes!  She picked out some goodies (thanks Mom!)

Island Dream is a glitter bomb in a milky jelly base, which gives the over all look of a jelly sandwich.  My favorite way to wear glitter is in a sandwich!  I know there are a lot of these types of polishes around, but I'm still a sucker for them.

Pink Week Breast Cancer Awareness Day 4

Hey Dolls

Day 4 four of our Pink Mani Week for Breast Cancer Awareness.

I haven't worn Revlon Popular in a long time, I forgot how much I LOVE this polish!  This is 3 thin coats of Popular.

Pink Week for Breast Cancer Awareness

Hey Dolls

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I am joining in with my fellow bloggers to post a pink mani everyday for a week to spread awareness.  Along with our pretty mani's we are sharing important facts about breast cancer and early detection.  I have already learned from these facts, and I hope they will help you as well.

For my first mani I did a jelly sandwich using an unamed Sally Girl polish and I Love Nail Polish Gold Everything.  The circle glitter in Gold Everything is my absolute fave!

Twinsie Tuesday

Hiya Dolls!

Today for Twinsie Tuesday everyone is posting their astrology sign mani.  I'm not down with astrology, so I'm just sharing a pretty swatch with ya.  This little gem is Love & Beauty by Forever 21 Baby Blue/Hot Pink.  It has pink and holographic hex glitter with micro purple glitter suspended in a milky blue base.

I needed 4 coats to get the opacity I like (I just lost all of you didn't I?).  My nails are pretty stained from all the polish I wear, so I needed 4 coats to cover that.  Using an opaque light blue base first would cut down on the amount of layers I need.

Random Swatches

Hey Dolls!

I've got some random swatches to show you guys.  First up is I Love Nail Polish What The Funk.  Glitters in a white base are a real weakness of mine.  What The Funk as large bright and dark green hex glitters, and smaller orange and green glitters in a milky base.  Yum yum.

I have been on the search for a soft peach polish for a while now.  Why are they so hard to find?  So when I found Peachy Keen by China Glaze, I grabbed it quick.  Application was a little tricky because the polish was so thick, (I've added a bit of thinner and it really helped).

Next up is Clinique Yellow Genious.  This yellow is so beautiful, two coats was all I needed for perfect coverage.

I love this bright fuschia purple by Revlon.  Plum Seduction has the perfect formula, it could've been a one coater, but I did two for good measure!  My ring finger is Joe Starry, a really pretty silver with holo bits.

I picked up this Sally Hansen the other day for $2.00, I love a good deal.  Greige Gardens is a purple based grey cream.  I added some pink shards to the tips with Fing'rs Rose Gold Knock-Off.

And last but not least is Hard Candy Sweet Tooth.  Sweet Tooth as pink, blue and silver glitters in a milky white base.  I used a white base coat first for this swatch.

Twinsie Tuesday Ice Cream Mani

Hiya Dolls

This week for Twinsie Tuesday the theme is Ice Cream.  I am not a huge fan of ice cream, is that weird?  I never eat it at home.  Or with pie.  The only way I will eat an ice cream is if I'm out somehwere and there are waffle cones.  The waffle cone is the best part!

It was my bday last week and a friend of mine gave me Drops Of Jade by Maybelline.  Right away this polish looked like Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream to me.  I knew it would be perfect for today's post.  I did two coats for this swatch, it could have used a third/

Revlon Girly

Hiya Dolls

I've had these swatches of Revlon Girly for ages now (look how pale my fingers were).  Finally sharing it, better late than never!

Girly has peach, pink and purple multi-sized glitters in a milky, jelly pink base.  I used 3 thin coats here.

Did any of you girlies pick up Girly?!

Orly Peaceful Opposition

Hey Dolls

Back in the Spring I bought Orly Peaceful Opposition from Sally's.  PO is such a pretty polish, it feels very whimsical to me.

Peaceful Opposition has hex and square silver glitters in a milky pinkish-grey base.  For my swatch I did a coat of white polish first, then 2 thick coats of PO.

Black Glitter Skittles

Hiya

I have been loving the swatches of Illamasqua Speckled everywhere lately!  I don't have access to this brand nearby, so I imitated it with the polishes that I had on hand.

The black glitter is L.A. Girl Glitter Addict Uninhibited.  Uninhibited has tiny black glitter and medium sized black hex glitter.  It is super jam packed with the glitters, so i had to dab it on rather than swipe.

Each nail has a base color, one coat of glitter and then they all have a coat of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu over top.  On my pointer is Revlon Dreamer. Middle finger is Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth. Ring finger is OPI My Very First Knockwurst, and my pinky is Color Club Blue-ming.

I was so excited when I saw this next polish by Love & Beauty (Forever 21) but once it was on, I didn't really love it.  Rose/Red (such a dull name) felt very chunky on my nails.  My base coat is Zoya Dita, and while this IS a gorgeous pink, I think I should have used a different color.  Rose/Red has a lot of different glitters going on!  It has lots of multi-sized irridescent shards, small silver glitter, red square glitters and large red hearts.

Claire's Pinata Jelly Sandwich

I almost squealed when I saw Pinata at Claires the other day!  I don't have any shard-type polish yet, so of course I picked this up!

Pinata has multi-color chard bits in a clear base, so fabulous!  Application was a little tricky, sometimes the shards were sparse and sometimes they clumped together.  The end result was way worth it though.  I used Finger Paints Gossamer White with Pinata for my jelly sandwhich.

Three thin coats of Gossamer White.

Next I added one thin coat of Gossamer White over Pinata.

And on Pinata on all four fingers as a jelly sandwich.

Summer Lovin, Jessica

Hello my lovely's.

Summer Lovin is a peachy/nude/pastely cream polish that I am in love with.  Thank you Nory-girl for sending it to me, it's my first Jessica, and I love her :)

I added a coat of Sinful Colors Out Of This World, for a little sparkle!  I love this polish, thank you Amanda!

And then......wanted to do a jelly sanwich, so I used W&W Beautiful, But Dangerous, and a coat of Summer Lovin on top.

My Boyfriend Scales Walls

I've got the yummy white polish from the OPI Spiderman collection to show you today.  Thanks Nory-girl!  My Boyfriend Scales Walls is lovely white cream with just the slightest hint of grey, and I swear I see a blue tint, but I can't find anywhere online that agrees with me!

And then for funzies, I added a coat of W&W Light With Caution and a layer of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu from the Ballet Collection to make a jelly sandwich.

Light With Caution is such a pretty glitter.  I love the small iridescent glitter sprinkled in there.

Jelly Sandwich, Essie and W&W

Mmmmmm, I love jelly sandwiches!

I used the beautiful Secret Story by Essie as my jelly base, and Beautiful, But Dangerous by Wet and Wild for my glitter.  Another coat of SS on top and I loooooved this sandwich!

Beautiful, But Dangerous is a super fun glitter.  It has blue, gold, black and pink small hexes.  Obviously, the pink ones kinda disappeared in this mani.  I'd like to try this in a white jelly.

Revlon Popular aka Starry Pink Twinsie Tuesday

Holla!  It's Twinsie Tuesday!

I'm so excited for this week's Twinsie post!  We are swatching our favorite BRAND of polish.  This was very easy for me, REVLON all the way!  While there are some other polishes that I love (Essie, Orly, OPI, Butter London...oh should I stop now?) it's Revlon that I keep going back to.

I love Revlon's formula and colors, and their price point.  And I absolutely LOVE that they make dupes of more expensive brands.

For my swatch, I used Popular aka Starry Pink.  It's a favorite.

Twinsie Tuesday Jelly Sandwich

Hiya friends!  Welcome to another Twinsie Tuesday.  This week is jelly sandwiches, my faaaaaave!

Here is mine

I used Sally Hansen Blue Me Away, mixed with a lot of clear coat to make a 'jelly' and I used Island Girl Aloha Surf, for my glitter.  One coat of jelly, one coat of glitter, and another coat of jelly = jelly sandwich!

bunch o' random

Hello Lovelies!  Christmas is getting so close!  My girls and I are counting down the days, I love this time of year.

This is my first gradient.  I really liked it, and it looked way better IRL, you couldn't see so many mistakes!  W&W Black Cream, and Milani Gold Glitz.

This is an Avon color I bought a few years ago, Jade.  It's a mint cream, a little runny, takes a few coats to even out.  I could've used a 4th here.

 And here she is mattified.

I mixed some black into my W&W Party of Five glitter.  My camera didn't capture how cool this looked on my nails.

And here is Park Ave.  This is a lovely tuape/grey/purple cream by NYC
.
