Twinsie Tuesday Oldest Untried Polish

Hiya Dolls

We are showing our oldest untried polish today for Twinsie Tuesday.  I keep pretty up to date with all my new polishes, but every once in a while one will sit on the shelf for a bit before I get to it.  That is what happened with Nicole by OPI Light A Candle.

Light A Candle is a metallic lavendar.  I decided to sponge Light A Candle over Clinique Birthday Suit.

Seasonal Gradient, Twinsie Tuesday

Hey Dolls

We are showing you a Seasonal Gradient this week for Twinsie Tuesday.  I know that it's still early Winter and Spring is a while away, but I had to do something to incorporate Spring as the weather is so beautiful right now in BC.  The sun is shining and things are greening up and my bulbs are sprouting already.

I used Essie Rock The Boat and Clinique Hula Skirt with a dusting of China Glaze Fairy Dust on top.

Clinique Black Honey Skittle

Hiya Dolls

I've got another simple skittle mani to show you today, I just cant get enough!  I used Clinique's Black Honey polish on my pinky, it's my favorite Clinique polish.  I love how vampy and dark it is without being black.  I also used Clinique Strappy Sandals on my middle finger.  For my ring, pointer and thumb I used Wet n Wild Sugar Coat.  I had to do 4 coats of Sugar coat to get the opacity I like.

Pink and Black Tape Mani

Hiya Dolls!

I get to go to a PINK concert tomorrow night!  Eeeeeeeee, I am so excited I can't stand it!  Of course I had to do a fun mani for the occasion.  I started with Clinique Pinkini as my base (how perfect hey?) then I taped off a deep chevron and did a coat of China Glaze Haunting.  I think the look is pretty perfect for a Pink rock concert!

Pink Galaxy Nails, Breast Cancer Awareness

Hiya Dolls

Day 6 of Pink Week for Breast Cancer Awareness.

I gave galaxy nails another go (see my first galaxy nails here).  I started with a base coat of OPI My Very First Knockwurst.  Then I sponged on Zoya Dita, Essie Jamaica Me Crazy, Clinique Pinkini and some plain white.  I added a few white dots and a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust and there you have it, Pink Galaxy Nails!

Random Swatches

Hey Dolls!

I've got some random swatches to show you guys.  First up is I Love Nail Polish What The Funk.  Glitters in a white base are a real weakness of mine.  What The Funk as large bright and dark green hex glitters, and smaller orange and green glitters in a milky base.  Yum yum.

I have been on the search for a soft peach polish for a while now.  Why are they so hard to find?  So when I found Peachy Keen by China Glaze, I grabbed it quick.  Application was a little tricky because the polish was so thick, (I've added a bit of thinner and it really helped).

Next up is Clinique Yellow Genious.  This yellow is so beautiful, two coats was all I needed for perfect coverage.

I love this bright fuschia purple by Revlon.  Plum Seduction has the perfect formula, it could've been a one coater, but I did two for good measure!  My ring finger is Joe Starry, a really pretty silver with holo bits.

I picked up this Sally Hansen the other day for $2.00, I love a good deal.  Greige Gardens is a purple based grey cream.  I added some pink shards to the tips with Fing'rs Rose Gold Knock-Off.

And last but not least is Hard Candy Sweet Tooth.  Sweet Tooth as pink, blue and silver glitters in a milky white base.  I used a white base coat first for this swatch.

Clinique Yellow Genius Mix and Match Mani

Hi Dolls!

I have pretty Clinique polish to share with you today.  This creamy yellow is called Yellow Genius.  Formula was fantastic, this is two thin coats!  No streaks at all!

I had a little fun and mixed up this mani.  On my pointer I added one coat of Maybelline Polka Dots Clearly Spotted.  I LOVE this glitter topper!  I put a cute bow from The Born Pretty Store on my middle finger.  My ring has three thin coats of Joe Fresh Starry.  And I added a coat of Orly Crazy Diamond to my pinky.

Do you guys like the look of a mix and match mani as much as I do?

Twinsie Tuesday Something New

Hey Dolls

For Twinsie Tuesday this week the theme is 'Something New'.  I knew right away that I wanted to try the Water Fall Nail Art from The Nailasaurus.  It's new and fresh and I loooove the design.

This was my first try and I did it on my 7 day old mani.  Yes you read that right!  This is the longest I've ever worn a polish for and I only had a bit of tip wear and growth, not even one chip!  I liked the first try so much I decided to just use this for my mani this week.  I will for sure be doing more of these!

My base is Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Prickly Pear.  For my stripes I used China Glaze For Audrey and Peachy Keen, and Clinique Strappy Sandals.  I used a thin brush for the stripes, next time I will do them thinner so I can add more lines.

Clinique Polish Swatches and Review

Hi Dolls

I've got some more Clinique polishes to share with you today!  Some of them are from the permanent polish line and some are limited edition Summer shades.

First up is Summer In The City from the limited edition Summer line.  Summer In The City is a pink leaning coral crelly (cream/jelly hybrid).

Next is Hi Sweetie from the permanent line. Hi Sweetie is a deep pink crelly. This would be a great polish for jelly sandwiches!

Juiced Up is a fabulous orange jelly from the Limited Edition line.  This is such a fun Summer shade.

Indie Rock is a metallic burgundy brown polish from the permanent line.  I know I will be wearing this a lot in the Fall months.

Call My Buff is a beautiful white jelly.  This is 3 thick coats, so you can see that it is a very sheer polish.  Again this would be perfect for layering a glitter jelly sandwich.

Last but not least is Splish Splash from the Summer collection.  Splish Splash is a bright blue with a crelly finish.  This would be perfect for a day at the beach!

Which one is your favorite?

Twinsie Tuesday International Choice

Hi Dolls

This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is a fun one for me.  It's International Choice, and because I live in Canada (most of the Twinsie's live in the States) I get to choose the theme for my group.  We have two other international Twinsie's, Elizabeth and Roisin, and they have their own groups as well.

For my theme, I chose BC's National Tree which is the gorgeous Dogwood Tree.  Too bad my nail art doesn't do it proud, but I tried!

My base color is Barry M Pink Flamingo.  For the flower I used China Glaze Something Sweet and Clinique Hula Skirt.

Be sure to check out the other Twinsie's, and see which ones are doing my theme!

Clinique Enamel, Limited Edition Summer 2013, Swatches and Review

Press Sample

Clinique A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skins has just made it's debut in Canada.  I have totally fallen for Clinque polishes, the application is a breeze, they dry soooo quickly and wear super well!  You can see my swatches of the permanent collection here.  Today I have four out of the nine limited edition colors for Summer 2013.

First up is Hula Skirt, the prettiest grass green cream.  Formula was fantastic, two smooth coats for perfect coverage.

Pinkini is a flirty bubble gum pink cream.  Pinks are always a hit in my books, so it's no wonder that this one is my favorite.  Again this is two coats for perfect coverage.

Hot Date is a squishy purple jelly.  I used three coats to cover up my nail line and this jelly built up wonderfully.  My camera showed Hot Date more red than it is in person.  I see some fun jelly sandwiches in the future with this one!

Strappy Sandals is a shiny silver foil.  I was surprised that a silver foil was in a Summer collection, but as soon as I read the name Strappy Sandals, it made perfect sense!  I think that it's a fabulous idea and I am super excited to wear this in the Summer.  Application was great, two thin coats were all I needed.

Which ones catch your fancy?

Clinique A Different Nail Enamel For Sensitive Skins, Swatches and Review

*Press Sample

Hello hello,

I am so excited to share with you guys A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skins by Clinique!  Clinique is dermatologically tested and 100% fragrance free.  They designed the polish to minimize unwanted reactions to the nails, skin and eyes.  Apparently, the chemicals in some polish can cause a skin rash around your eyes.  Did ya'll know that on average, a person touches their eyes 200 times a day?  Yikes!

A rainbow of twelve new shades make up the permanent collection, and there are limited edtition shades as well!  Today I am showing you six of the 12 permanent polishes.

First up is my favorite of the six, Really Rio.  Really Rio is a gorgeous coral cream, this color is so hot this season!  Application was creamy and smooth, this was three very thin coats.

Happy Heart is a gorgeous, bright pink leaning coral cream.  This is a really unique color to add to your collection, I don't have anything like Happy Heart.  Two coats was all I needed for perfect coverage.

Red Red Red is one of Cliniques most beloved lipsticks, and now you can wear this classic red on your nails.  Red Red Red is a cream-jelly hybrid, I used three coats here and still had a little bit of visible nail line.

Fizzy is a pretty, vintage pink frost that glided on like butter!  Two thin coats were all I needed.  I really love this shimmery neutral.

Black Honey!  This vampy burgundy is so sexy!   Black honey is another iconic Clinique lipstick that you can now wear on your nails.  This was so pigmented that it was almost a one-coater.  I can see this being my go-to dark shade.

Sweet Tooth is a very very light pink jelly.  I actually used four coats for this swatch because I have a bit of staining on my nails (the only downside of a nail blogger!)  Most people would only need two coats of this gorgeous barely-there pink.

Clinique also has a base and top coat in one that is meant to be worn with all the shades.  I wore the base and top coat with Happy Heart and it lasted 5 days without one single chip!

The thin, flat brush makes application really easy.  It actually may be the perfect brush in my opinion!  Not too skinny or wide, just perfect.  I was also impressed by how quickly these polishes dry.

Next I'll be swatching four of the limited edition Summer shades.  Stay tuned friends!
