Glam Polish Swatch and Review

PRESS SAMPLES

Hiya Dolls!

I am so excited to share with you my first bottles of Glam Polish!  I have loved seeing all the stunning pics of Glam Polish all over Instagram and on peoples blogs, and now I finally have a few bottles of my own!  They are even better than I imagined them!  Flakie, holo goodness with a kick butt formula!  On to the pictures so you can see for yourself!

The formula on all three polishes were awesome and so easy to work with.  The flakies are super smooth and lay flat against the nail.  I added one coat of top coat for added shine.  My pictures were taken using a light box and it didn't capture the rainbow-ness of the holo flakies like the sun does.  Still pretty indoors, but when you wear these outside, they are even more magical!

First up is Katrina Van Tassel which just happens to be my fave!  She is a stunning burnt orange-red jelly with plenty of holo flakies.

Nancy Downs is a gorgeous, grape-purple jelly with holo flakies.  So rich and decadent.

Madame Serena is a beautiful magenta jelly with holo flakies.  This color is so gorgeous, it was a tough choice between this one and Katrina Van Tassel for my favorite.

Are you a sucker for holo flakies like me?  I don't think I could ever get enough of them!

These three polishes are from the Coven Collection which is available now for purchase at the Glam Polish website.  You can follow that link to see the rest of the Coven Collection and purchase.

Polishes are $11.50-12.00 USD

Joe Fresh Melon and Twinkle

Hey Dolls

Hope you are all having a fabulous long weekend!  Our has been filled with sunshine, gardening, bike rides and 3 broken nails, haha!

Surprise surprise, I'm showing you a Joe Fresh polish again!   Melon is a juicy cantaloupe cream with a hint of pink.  I used 3 thin coats for perfect opacity.

I also picked up Joe Fresh Twinkle, because I can't ever pass up a flakie polish!  Twinkle is a flakie top coat that flashes a pale purple and blue.

Color Club Girl About Town

Hiya Dolls

I have three more polishes to show you from the Girl About Town Collection by Color Club.  I have been wanting The Uptown for a while now, I am such a sucker for a good flakie polish.

The Uptown has gorgeous flakies that shift green to orange to pink in a purple jelly base.  This polish is even more fabulous in person!

Wicker Park is a bright pastel lavendar that leans pink.  Application was so great, this color is highly pigmented and there were no streaks at all.

I am still on the fence about Pearl District.  I'm not a fan of these kind of colors and I don't think it's very flattering on my skin tone.  Color Club describes this color as the stone Tigers Eye.  Application was easy, I used two coats for this swatch.

Color Club Holiday 2012 Winter Affair

Well I guess the holidays are almost over but techinically I missed it all!  My hubs and I woke up Christmas morning with food poisoning.  Our poor girlies (ages 8 and 9) had to open presents by themselves.  Such a sad day!

I would have shown you these over the holidays, but it really took it out of me, so you get it now!  This is such a fun holiday collection, I loved every single polish!

First up is Ho-Ho-Holly.  I am so in love with this green foil.  Application was a breeze, two thin coats was all I needed.  The gold really surprised me in here!

Winter Affair is a rich, deep maroon with fabulous shimmer.  This was my favorite in the collection.  I love dark colors, especially with dark almost flakie shimmer! Mmmmm.

Glitter Wonderland is a fun shimmery jeweled purple.  It is made up of micro glitter in red, blue and purple in a purple base.  I loved wearing this, it was like jewels on my finger tips.

Berry And Bright is an amazing red foil.  Two thin coats gave the most beautiful layered foil effect.  This one really glows from within.

Gift of Sparkle is a fabulous red and purple glitter with some fun holo glitter mixed in, all in a purple base.  I used two coats and the coverage was great.  I needed a very generous layer of top coat to make it glassy smooth.  The holo glitter in there really sparkled!

And then just to be a little crazy, I added Snow-Flakes on top of Gift of Sparkle.  That's a whole lot of fun going on there!  Snow-Flakes is a flakie top coat that shifts orange to green.

Retro Blue, Vernis

Hello hello,

Vernis by Cherimoya is a new-to-me brand that I'm really enjoying!  I picked up a couple colors the other day, and Retro Blue was one of them.  I love this shade of blue, it actually has a little more green in it, but my camera refused to pick that up.

Retro Blue is a crelly (cream/jelly) that applied really smoothly.  The first coat was streaky, but the second evened everything out perfectly.

I added a coat of Color Club Snow-Flakes, which is a fabulous flakie that shifts red, pink, orange and green.  I still am obsessed with flakies!

Essence, Gorgeous Bling Bling

Helo hello,

I hummed and hawwed over this Essence polish in Shoppers Drugmart the other day.  The gorgeous flakies are what got me immediately, but the I wasn't fond of the color.  I wore it for a day, and it was ok, but I was ready to take it off!

Gorgeous Bling Bling (weird name) comes in the new Essence bottles.  It's a pretty unique polish, an interesting burnt (dirty-like) orange color with gold flakies.  I pretty much can NEVER pass on a flakie polish!

The formula was fantastic, 2 really easy coats and it dried supa quick!!

So what do you think, are you on the fence like me?  Love it or hate it?!

Posy

I made a franken that reminds me so much of Summer.  I named her Posy.  It's a blue jelly with multi colored and sized glitter, some small white glass flecks, and larger white flakies. Mmmmmm.

I should have put more flakies in it!  You can never have too many flakies I always say.

When I wore this, I actually preferred my right hand (it had more glitter on it) but I didn't even attempt to take a pic of it!  It's luck of the swipe with this franken.  I guess I could've put another swipe on, this was 3 thin coats.  And they super quick, it was great.

I used a concoction of polishes from my stash to make Posy.

Twinsie Tuesday Regional Polish

Hello hello,

We are all showing you a Regional polish this week.  I, of course, am showing you a Joe Fresh Polish.  You can find Joe in all Superstores across Canada.

This is Opal.  She's a lovely soft looking polish with a lot of fun opal shimmer and tiny glass flakies.  In the bottle it looks as though it's in a milky base, but it is sooo shear.  It looks amazing over black.  I'll swatch that next time!

Check out the other twinsie's Regional polishes!

Glitter Me Pink

Holla!

Whilst shopping for my swap buddy Nory, I came across this beautiful pink jelly polish with glitters and flakies.  Those are my 3 favorite things right there!  It's called Glitter Me Pink by ACO.

I swatched it on it's own, but it was very sheer, so I used a base coat of Essie Secret Story, which is a pretty jelly pink as well.  And I used 3 coats Glitter Me Pink over top.  The glitter looks dense in the bottle, but was sparse enough that I needed 3 coats to get the look I wanted.

This is Glitter Me Pink on it's own.  4 coats.

Cinderella Dupe, maybe.

Hello Luvlies

Sanx to everyone who entered my giveaway.  I'm so excited to now have over 300 followers!  The winner of the 2 Billie polishes is Madeline, I've sent an email out to her.  Congrats!

So this is my take on Cinderella by Sinful Colors.  I used Sephora by OPI's Havana Dreams, I needed 4 coats of this.  It may the the runniest, watery-ist polish I own, but once it reaches opacity it is gorgeous.  And then I put one coat of Revlon's Colada Fizz on top.

I don't own Cinderella yet, but when I do, I will do a comparison.  I think Colada Fizz has bigger glass flecks than Cinderella, and Colada is straight silver/white flecks, which I think Cinderella's glass flecks shine a bit orange?

What do you guys think?

Twinsie Tuesday Tape Mani

This weeks edition of Twinsie Tuesday is Tape Mani's.

I have never tried a tape mani before, and I can say that this was suuuuper hard.  I tried so many different ways and hated all of them!  I finally settled for what I've got going in these pics.

I used LA Girls Extreme, Joe Fresh Starry and W&W Black Creme.

I can't wait to see what the others have come up with this week! Check, check, check it out!
