Nicole For OPI Carrie Underwood Collection

Hiya Dolls

I am so excited to show you two polishes from the Nicole For OPI Carrie Underwood Collection!

First up is Carrie'd Away.  Carrie'd Away is a stunning gold glitter.  The glitter is actually little glass flecks and they are spectacular!   While it has a gold overall-look to it, there are some white-silver glass flecks in there also that give it beautiful depth!  I used three thin coats to get the opacity that I like.  This could also be used as a glitter topper.

Next up is this gorgeous hot-pink cream called Color Me Country.  Application was so smooth and creamy, I used two coats for perfect opacity.

Sally Hansen Pink-Grape Fruit

Hiya Dolls!

I have a fun glass-fleck Sally Hansen to show you today.  Pink-Grape Fruit has tons of pink glass flecks in a light lavendar jelly base.  In certain lighting the pink glass flecks colorshift to yellow.

I did one coat over Wet & Wild Black Creme, and then top coat.

Orly Galaxy Girl

Hiya Dolls

You need to just prepare yourself for this bottle shot!

This is the kind of polish that I have to try to contain myself when I see in store!  I almost squealed out loud when I found Galaxy Girl in Winners!  That color shift is to die for!

Three coats and this was opaque and super smooth, and very awesome.

Galaxy girl has a very deep purple/burgundy base with amazing color shifting glass flecks.

Seriously look at this!

Now this last picture is what the polish looks like in most lights.  Dark burgundy with teal shimmer.  I can't get enough.

Do you all love it as much as I do?  If you don't, you're crazy ;)

Twinsie Tuesday Marching Orders

Hiya Dolls

The theme 'Marching Orders' for Twinsie Tuesday was a popular one and we are doing it again this week.  Each Twinsie was randomly matched with another and we had to give or recieve 'marching orders' from that Twinsie.

I got my marching orders from Lakeisha, and she asked that I do a mani with stripes and dots.  I used Zoya Aurora and Butter London HRH for my mani.  I used striping tape on my ring finger, and just a dotting tool on my pointer.

Be sure to check out the other Twinsie's!

Orly High On Hope

I was so excited when I saw Orly High on Hope (Spring 2013 Collection) at my local Sally's.  I love almost any polish that has little glass flecky/shimmer.  This chunky shimmer definately is a duochrome, but it only shows up in certain lights.

High On Hope is a chameleon, it looks different in almost every light.  Sometimes it looks like a dusty denim blue, sometimes it looks like a royal blue and then sometimes that flash of shimmer just blows you away!

I loved HOH so much that I wore it for 5 days, ya that's right, 5 days!

Look at the beautiful color shift in the bottle!

Maybelline Blue Freeze

I am not a huge fan of blue polish, but when I saw Blue Freeze, I knew I wanted it for Fall.  I am loving Maybelline's new colors!

Blue Freeze has a dark blue base packed with blue, purple and pink glass flecks.  This polish really glows!

Wined and Dined, Color Show

Happy Monday ya'll

After seeing Maribeth's lovely swatches of Wined and Dined by Maybelline, I knew I had to have it!

It's from their new Color Show Collection.  It's one of those polishes that to see it on the shelf I would have never picked it up.  I'm so glad I did, because I loved it on the nail and couldn't stop staring at them!

Love the pretty purple flecks in there!

Sinful Colors Cinderella

A huuuge thank you to Amanda from Amandalandish for sending me Cinderella in our swap!
*In love*

You really do feel like you are wearing Cinderella's dress on your nails.  It's the perfect blue, and that pinky/orangey shimmer/glass flecks are goregous.

I used 4 coats, but it dried super quick and I loved watching it build up each time a new layer went on!

Before I owned Cinderella I tried to re-create it myself using Sephora Havana Dream and Revlon Colada Fizz.  This last pic is it. It satisfied me until I recieved the real thang!!

Choose Me, Essence

S'up ladies ?!  I have Choose Me by Essence today.  It's another polish from my swap with Nory, she picked some awesome polishes for me!

Choose Me is a pretty turquoise, jelly-ish base with tons of gold and blue glass flecks floating in it.  It went on so nicely, 2 thin coats.

I put a coat of Essie Matte About You, cuz I really wanted to see what this would look like mattified.  I really liked the look of it matte, and I wore it like that for a while, but then put a shiny top coat on and watched it come alive again.

Bettina Disco Boogie

I got a lovely little package in the mail the other day from Nory at Fierce Makeup and nails, containing my very first Bettina polish!  It was a thank you for participating in her Blogger Love week.  What a sweetheart to send a thank you polish!  I was so excited to get it!  Thank you again Nory!!!!

Here she is....

Sooooo lovely!  There are flashes of light pink, medium purple, dark purple and blue depending on the light.  I couldn't stop staring!

These last 2 pics are under my lamp.  There was a really awesome orange flash in the bottle, but I couldn't get it to show on the nail.

I am officially in love with Bettina polishes!

Twinsie Tuesday

It's Twinsie Tuesday again!  Woohoo :)

This week we all did a layered mani.  My base coat is Sinful Colors Dream On, and I used Sally Hansen Glass Slipper on top.  I love Glass Slipper so much, it shows so well on top of Dream On.

Here is Dream On on her own

Here's the list of the other girls who are playing along.  Go check them out yo :)

Pink Wednesday

I'm doing my first Pink Wednesday post.  I made this franken the other day, just using a super old bottle of Revlon Sheer Blossom (try not to look at the hideous franken bottle!) and a few drops of Revlon Cherries in the Snow.  I love the soft squishy look it has.

Amandalandish Guest Post

Sweet Amanda from Amandalandish was kind enough to do a guest post for us all today!  I am a huge fan of Amanda, she is so sweet and I always look forward to her posts on her blog.  Enjoy lovelies...

Hello all you lovely Grape Fizzers!

I'm Amanda from Amandalandish and I was so thrilled to be asked by the sweet Anne to guest post today.  Her swatches are truly immaculate and I find that her taste is pretty similar to mine so in attempts to impress, I wanted to come up with something a bit different for this post.

It occurred to me that two of my major lemmings from 2011 were both purple flakies that were heavily documented in the blogosphere.  However, now that I happily have both in my possession, I thought I'd do a bit of a comparison post (my first, in fact!)

The first swatch is Zoya Neeka, one of the stars of the Smoke and Mirrors Collection.  A deep purple cream, you can see there is a dusty quality to this polish that really makes Neeka beautifully unique.

Zoya Neeka

My second swatch is one of those polishes that I picked up a bazillion times in the store and always put down, only to realize that when I really, really, really wanted it, it was nowhere to be found.  I was lucky enough to buy Revlon Royal Cloak, the LE purple bombshell from this fall's Masquerade Collection, from a blog sale for super cheap.  Like Neeka, this is a creamy deep purple, also possessing that great dustiness I adore.

Revlon Royal Cloak
In my heavily biased opinion, both are equally gorgeous.  But is there a reason to own both?  Well, let me show you these beauties a bit closer:

Zoya Neeka
Revlon Royal Cloak
As you can see, Neeka is a much richer, darker purple filled with gold glass flecks.  Royal Cloak has a bluer base thus somewhat lighter, has silvery white glass flecks.  Two halves of a purple whole, I think these compliment each other wonderfully.

However, as someone who pined for these for months and now (clearly) owns both, I have to say in full disclosure they're fairly similar when worn.  In the end it really depends on your fleck preference (gold or silver), color saturation level, and your wallet.  Both retail for about $7 USD, although Royal Cloak is now discontinued.

What do you ladies think?  Is it worth it to own both or was I chasing purple dreams trying to own both?

My thanks to Anne for allowing me the opportunity to try out a new type of post for her readers.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  And to everyone else: please don't be shy!  I hope to see you girlies over at Amandalandish from time to time :)

Thank you again Amanda, now I'm going to have to go buy Zoya Neeka!  If you haven't already, go check out Amanda's blog, I know you will love it!

Sally Hansen HD DVD

This is Sally Hansen HD Definition (that makes me laugh a bit) in DVD.  It's a purple/blue duochrome, with loads and loads of little glass flakes.  Super pretty.  I'm going to try layering next time.  This is 4 coats!

These are under a lamp light.

This one is out in the sunshine.

There's still a few more days to enter my giveaway.  Winner will be announced on Friday :)
